I have been hearing about Ryan Heffington’s Instagram Live dance classes since the lockdown began in the US, but today was the first day I tried one. Lots of fun! I always enjoy living room dance parties — this was a fun way to do it alone (self isolating! no self consciousness!) but also with thousands of other people.

The split second after a dance ends
I just watched Restless Creature, a documentary about Wendy Whelan’s retirement from the New York City Ballet. Watching her dance is inspiring, and then as the dance ends there’s that moment of collective holding of breath while the silence and dark settles over you. It’s like magic.
